TYPE LOCALITY: "Valley of Alyk-nor." Restricted by Formosov (in A. T. Smith et al., 1990) to Alang-nor Lake, NE Qinghai, China (35°35'N, 97°25'E); see also Corbet (1978c) GoogleMaps .
DISTRIBUTION: NE Qinghai, Gansu, and Sichuan ( China).
STATUS: IUCN - Indeterminate. Apparently rare and scattered in distribution.
SYNONYMS: ciliana Bannikov, 1940.
COMMENTS: Widely sympatric with the similar O. cansus .
