Distribution. Holarctic; first record for Ukraine.

Taxonomical remark. Mesochorus tachypus has been usually misinterpreted as M. tetricus (auct. non Holmgren, e.g. Schwenke 1999) in the past, but the elongate ovipositor sheath (1.3–1.4 × longer than hind metatarsus) is straight and not down-curved as in Mesochorus tetricus Holmgren, 1860 . Vikberg & Vårdal (2017: 9–16) gave detailed descriptions of both species.
