The L. coreanum Species Complex of the genus Lepidostoma Rambur
The males of the L. coreanum Species Complex are morphologically characterized by unique genitalia, scapes of antennae, and wings of males as follows: brown. Abdominal segment IX short. Segment X composed of slender mesal, lateral and ventral arms but lateral and ventral arms often short or reduced completely. Inferior appendages setose, composed of broad, semicircular or subquadrate main articles, bar-like or comb-like dorsal hooks and short bar-shaped inner hooks. Scapes of antennae very setose, thick and long, 1.5–2.0 times as long as head, each with short mesal process. Wings apically round, covered with fine setae, scales, and spindle-like setae, often reduced in venation particularly in coastal area. The species complex consists of Lepidostoma coreanum ( Kumanski & Weaver 1992) , L. niigataense sp. nov., L. hattorii sp. nov., L. yuwanense sp. nov., and L. ishigakiense sp. nov.
