Type locality. Iran: Gilan, Molla-Ali. Holotype: female ( ZIN).

Material examined. IRAN: W. Persia, Gilyan [Gilan], Molla-Ali , 15.5.1904, 1♀ (Holotype) ; ibidem, 1♀ (Paratype); Gilyan, N. Rustem-abad, 18.5.1904, 1♀ (Paratype); Gilyan , 4♀ (Paratypes) (all leg. Zarudny) ( ZIN); Gilan, Lahijan, 6.1936, 1♂ (leg. N. Lindsay) ( NHMUK).

Description of male: Body ( Fig. 792 View FIGURES 782 – 795 ) compressed laterally. Fastigium of vertex ( Figs. 764, 766 View FIGURES 760 – 781 ) slightly depressed and sloping. Frontal ridge narrow with a deep frontal sulcus, slightly narrowed just below the median ocellus. Vertex ( Figs. 764, 766 View FIGURES 760 – 781 ) between the eyes narrow, 1.2 times narrower than vertical diameter and 1.1 times wider than transversal diameter of eye; supraocular foveola distinct, closed type, but hind margin open; median carinula sharp and grooved; vertex slightly convex in lateral view. Antennae with 12 segments. Pronotum ( Fig. 792 View FIGURES 782 – 795 ) compressed laterally; lateral carinae very distinct and sharp; median carina distinctly raised with a very thin longitudinal sulcus, slightly wider in anterior part. Prosternum damaged, but anterior margin with a triangular, sharp median projection. Mesosternal interspace 1.6 times wider than its length and clearly narrower than mesosternal lobes. Hind femur ( Fig. 760 View FIGURES 760 – 781 ) 2.6 times longer than its height; preapical notch weak. Hind tibia with 9 inner, 9 outer spines. Abdominal tergites ( Fig. 792 View FIGURES 782 – 795 ) simple; median carina slightly raised; lateral carinae distinct. Tympanum absent. Phallus stout; arch of zygoma triangular, raised apically; posterior lobes of zygoma short; tumida of zygoma wide, not pointed; apodemes with weak apical notch; pseudolophi rounded, with 13–15 spines.

Coloration. Body creamish light brown, with cream, black and brown spots and patterns. Dorsal surface of head with small black spots. Eyes and antennae brown. Pronotum with cream tubercles and black spots. Typical light bands on paranota distinct, cream; metazona with a large brown spot just below the lateral carinae. Legs with sparse black spots. Typical light band on abdomen distinct, cream; lateral sides of abdomen darkened with brown, posterior half lightened with creamish-brown. Sternites yellowish-brown; last several segments and subgenital plate with a large brown spot on both sides of anterior margin. Inner and ventral surfaces of hind femur reddishbrown, dorsal margin of inner surface body color. Inner and dorsal surfaces of hind tibia blackish-brown in proximal part, turning to bright red in apical 1/3 with black tipped spines; outer spines yellowish. Tarsus bright red.

Measurements (mm). Male: body length 20.1; pronotum length 4.6; pronotum height 5.2; pronotum width anterior 4.3; pronotum width posterior 6.2; hind femur length 8.5; hind femur height 3.3.

Distribution. N.W. Iran: Gilan Province, Azerbaijan Prov. Gharasou ( Fig. 847 View FIGURE 847 ).
