Type species: Alcecoris periscopus McAtee & Malloch, 1924 View in CoL from Singapore, by original designation.
Diagnosis: Head longer than wide in frontal view. First antennal segment longer than width of an eye in dorsal view, basally incrassate, and apically with one or two strong spines (in females only); second antennal segment deeply scooped, with the anterior side convex and margins setose. Antennal insertions with well-developed tubercles. Species strongly dimorphic; males known for only one species ( A. globosus Carvalho ).
Distribution. India, Singapore, Taiwan, and Timor.
Two species are known to occur in India.
