Tribe Myiommini Bergroth, 1924
The Myiommini comprise a small tribe of 18 genera ( Schuh 2002 –2013) known from Africa, southern Europe, Asia and the primarily the tropical areas of New World ( Henry 1979, Akingbohungbe 1996, Henry and Carpintero 2012), with three genera occurring in India. Kerzhner and Josifov (1999) used the tribal name Myiommatini without explanation. We follow Herczek (1993), Akingbohungbe (1996), Cassis & Schuh (2012), and Schuh (2002 –2013), all of whom use the spelling Myiommini .
