Coboydaia amandavae (Fain, 1962)

Boydaia amandavae Fain, 1962c: 363 , figs. 1–5, 10–14, 1963d: 58, 67, 76, fig. 20, 1970: 319, figs. 19–20. Holotype in RMCA, examined.

Coboydaia amandavae, Fain 1971: 101 , 107, 112, figs. 41–43.

Type host: Sporaeginthus subflavus (Vieillot) ( Passeriformes : Estrildidae ) from Central Africa.

Diagnosis. Hypostome with 2 pairs of setae. Setae ve present. Sensillae SEa-type. Agenital and pseudanal series with 2 pairs of setae, each. Number of leg setae: coxae 2–1–1–0, trochanters 0–0–0–0, femora 6–4–3–1, genua 4– 4–3–2, tibiae 5–3–2–2. In larvae, antaxial and paraxial claws of leg I short, subequal, and sharp-ended.

Host and distribution. Passeriformes (Estrildidae) : SpOraeginthus subflavus (Vieillot) from Central Africa ( Fain 1962c).

Non-African hosts and distribution. Estrildidae : Amandava amandava (Linnaeus) from Indonesia ( Fain 1963d), Erythrura prasina (Sparman) from captivity in Belgium (Fain 1970) but originally distributed in the Oriental region ( Clements et al. 2016).
