Type host: Vanellus crassirostris (Hartlaub) ( Charadriiformes : Charadriidae ) from Rwanda.
Diagnosis. Palp tarsus with 3 setae (2 ventral BNa-type, 1 dorsal BDa- or BDb-type), solenidion absent; palp tibia with 1 seta (BDa-type). Hypostomal setae BNa-type. Propodonotum with 7 pairs of setae, vi doubled (vi1, vi2). Setae ve situated anterior to level of sensillae si. Sensillae SAb-type, other dorsal and ventral (including coxal setae) setae BDa-type. Genital series with 3 pairs of setae. Setae 1a, 3a and 4a present. Number of leg setae: coxae 2–1–1–1, femora 7–4–3–4.
Hosts and distribution. Charadriiformes (Charadriidae) : Vanellus crassirOstris (Hartlaub) and V. senegallus (Linnaeus) both from Rwanda [Southern Prov., Butare] ( Fain 1955b, 1956a).
