Type host: Pternistis afer (Statius Müller) ( Galliformes : Phasianidae ) from Rwanda.
Diagnosis. Palp tarsus with 4 setae (2 ventral setae Na-type, 2 dorso-apical setae Fa- or Fb-type) and solenidion. Hypostomal setae Ea or Eb-type setae. All idiosomal setae (including coxal setae) Ea- or Ec-type, except sensillae si SC-type.
Hosts and distribution. Galliformes (Phasianidae) : Perdix perdix (Linnaeus) from Rwanda (introduced) [Southern Prov., Butare] ( Fain 1956a), Pternistis afer (St. Mueller) from Rwanda [Southern Prov., Butare] ( Fain 1955a), P. swainsOnii (Smith) from Zambia ( Fain 1963d).
Non-African hosts and distribution. Phasianidae : BambusicOla thOracicus (Temminck) from Japan (Kaneko et al. 1977), Perdix perdix perdix (Linnaues) from Belgium ( Fain 1962d).
