Eurynotus View in CoL ( Biolus) sulcimargo Koch 1955: 422 .– Kamiński 2016: 236.
Diagnosis: Most similar to E. constrictus (see above diagnosis for more details). This species is most easily discernible using the shape of the pronotum (e.g. pronotal explanation), shining cuticle with smooth interstices between punctures, elytral punctation (large strial punctures), and puncture arrange - ment of abdominal ventrite V (with large setigerous punctures intermixed).
Description: Head: Coarsely punctate, punctures closely spaced, separated by ≤1 puncture diameter. Mentum without apical notch. Eye with weak circumocular groove. Prothorax: Pronotum finely punctate, punctures separated by ≥1 punc - ture diameter. Hypomeron deeply and sparsely punctate with some light sculpture/wrinkling. Pterothorax: Elytral interval X terminates between hind coxae and elytral apex. Epipleuron wider than width of elytral intervals 9 + 10 and clearly punc - tate. Elytral intervals obscured by epipleuron in ventral view. Abdomen: Punctate. Abdominal ventrite V coarsely punctate, punctures separated by ≥1 puncture diameter with larger, se - tigerous punctures intermixed. Females without median apical notch. Legs: Tarsi with black or dark setae. Female terminalia: Bursa copulatrix sac -like and without sclerites, spermatheca thick and coiled, accessory gland present, accessory pouch absent.
Material examined: Lectotype, here designated (TMNH): ‘Top of Skurweberge Cold Bokkeveld Ceres Dist.; M. Versfeld 15–30 Oct 1934; Paratypus EURYNOTUS sulcimargo C. Koch sp.n.; Paratype No: 1235 Eurynotus sulcimargo KOCH’.
Additional material: TMNH: ‘Fonteintiesberg Worcester C.P. 6000 ft. (K.H. Barnard Mar.1929. on rear side)’.
Note: As the original description lacked information defining the specific name -bearing specimen, one from the presumed syn - type series is here designated as lectotype to fix the taxonomic status of the species.
Distribution: South Africa (Fig. 10).
