Diagnosis
This species is externally characterized from congeners by having fuscous fascia along the outer margin of the forewing. The male genitalia is similar to Promalacta bellatula Wang, Promalacta meyricki Wang and Promalacta spatulata Wang, having a deep central incision of the valva, but the new species is differentiated by the gnathos longer than the uncus, the costal margin sclerotized with dense hairs, and a slender aedeagus without cornutus. The female genitalia is distinctly characterized by the antrum with a thumb-like apex, exceeding the lamella postvaginalis with a truncated apex, and the corpus bursae with a triangular, pyramid-like signum.
Description
Adult ( Figures 1C,D; 2B View Figure 2 ). Head: frons dark brown, tinged with deep grey; vertex white; occiput with dark-brown erect scales. Antenna with white scape entirely, shorter than diameter of eye; flagellum shiny white in basal third, alternated with dark brown. Labial palpus with second segment brownish yellow, third segment dark brown, the latter slightly shorter than the former. Thorax and tegula brownish yellow. Wing expanse 9.5–10.0 mm. Forewing ground colour brownish yellow; two triangular, deep-grey spots at one-third and two-thirds of posterior margin, fuscous scales followed by anterior margin, termen and posterior margin, edged two former spots; fringes brownish yellow on termen, tinged with deep grey on tornus and posterior margin. Hindwing lanceolate; fringes greyish brown. Legs dark brown, except white at basal part of each segment of tarsi; hind tibia with two pairs of dark brown spurs at sub-base and near apex.
Male genitalia ( Figure 3 View Figure 3 D–F). Uncus slender, with round apex. Gnathos more or less stout, sclerotized, longer than uncus. Valva bifurcate, deeply concave beyond costal part, bearing dense hairs; sacculus terminate at apex, dense setose around apex and beyond one-third of posterior margin. Saccus bell-like, one-half length of valva. Aedeagus slender, gently bent; cornutus absent.
Female genitalia ( Figure 4 View Figure 4 A–C). Papillae anales somewhat long, setose. Apophysis posterioris more than twice length of apophysis anterioris. Lamella postvaginalis weakly developed, a triangular pyramid-shaped, shorter than antrum. Antrum with thumb-shaped apex, longer than papillae anales. Corpus bursae pear-like, with irregular triangular pyramid-like signum at middle. Seventh sternum incised medially with dense setose on caudal margin.

Etymology
The specific name of the new species is derived from the Latin bi (= two) plus the Greek trigon (= triangle), referring to the two grey triangular spots on the forewing.
