CUF - NKNY - G 64 (2 shells; Figs 3 K View Figure 3 , 5 G View Figure 5 ).

Habitat.

On muddy floors of mangrove forests and intertidal mud flats ( Poutiers 1998 b; Okutani 2017).

Distribution.

Indian Ocean; Indo-West Pacific, from Japan to India ( Poutiers 1998 b; Okutani 2017; Palanisamy et al. 2020). Records of fossils from the Miocene to Quaternary in Indonesia ( Tesch 1920; Dharma 2005).

Record in Thailand.

Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea ( Wells et al. 2021).

Taxonomic remarks and comparisons.

This species is recognised by its high conical spire with a broad, rather flat base, and a twisted columella with a strong and central spiral ridge ( Houbrick 1991; Poutiers 1998 b).
