Type-locality: Microsynodontis vigilis – “ Branch of Nzorband creek, near village of Nzorband , 00°34’06.2”S, 10°12’46.4”E, 12 kilometers north of Lambaréné , Moyen-Ogooué Province, Gabon / Gabon: Province du Moyen-Ogooué province, 12 km N de Lambaréné, branche de la crique Nzorbang près du village du même nom”.
