Note: The application of this name is uncertain. Gray (in J. Bot. 19: 326. 1881) noted that Schultz Bipontinus (in J. Bot. 4: 233. 869. 1866) thought this to be the European S. artemesiifolius Pers., based on the identity of 996.43 (LINN). However, there are doubts as to whether this collection is original material for the name.
