Type locality.
-New Jersey, USA; stratum: "Lower Green Marls" (Navesink Formation); age: Cretaceous.
Type material.
Syntypes, ANSP IP19466 (as “type” in Richards 1968: 107), 1 shell, ANSP 19467, 1 shell.
Current taxonomic status.
Acteon gabbana Whitfield, 1892 ( Whitfield 1892, Richards and Ramsdell 1962).
