Diagnosis. among Cephagonus ı this species group is separated by the following combination of characters: clypeo-genal angle sub-straight in malesı obtuse in females (as in spadiceus and some species of ascanius and quadraticeps groups); anterior portion of pronotum with wide emargination and/or declivity ( Figure 16 View Figure 16 (a)); elytral interstriae flatı weakly impressed and/or with shiny blue or copper hue near the base and/or with microsculpture (as in D. mundus and D. baiano ) ( Figure 9 View Figure 9 (b-e)) and female sixth abdominal ventrite with a pair of triangular projections reaching pygidium margin (as in spadiceus group) ( Figure 7 View Figure 7 (b)).
