Scardamyctisidae Gistel, 1848: [7] [stem: Scardamyct-]. Type genus: Scardamyctes Gistel, 1848 [syn. of Magdalis Germar, 1817]. Comment: Scardamyctini Gistel, 1848 was recently considered a nomen oblitum by Colonnelli (2003: 7) however the necessary supporting references were not provided; we hereby consider Scardamyctini Gistel, 1848 as a nomen oblitum (see supporting re ferences in Appendix 1); incorrect original stem formation, not in prevailing usage.
