“ Ctenus tamerlani Roewer 1951 ”

Ctenus trabifer ,— Thorell 1895: 214 (description of 2 females from Tenasserim, misidentified according to Roewer 1951). F.O. Ctenus tamerlani Roewer 1951: 446 (referring to females of Thorell 1895, not examined; see note below).

Note. Roewer (1951) provided a nomen novum for “ Ctenus trabifer Thorell 1895 ” although this species name is not available. Thorell (1895) just identified —and probably misidentified— the specimens and listed “ Ctenus trabifer Thor. ” referring clearly to the page of his own original description ( Thorell 1887: 288). Therefore and according to ICZN (1999: article 13.1.3) the name “ Ctenus tamerlani ” proposed by Roewer (1951) is not available and thus not a valid name ( ICZN 1999: article 10).
