Material examined. Stn 63, three stems up to 7 mm high (MNCN 2.03/633); Stn 67, several stems up to 20 mm high on Staurotheca nonscripta (NIWA 117572); Stn 126, several stems up to 5 mm high on Staurotheca densa (MNCN 2.03/634); Stn 130, few stems up to 6 mm high on Staurotheca densa (NIWA 117573).

Ecology and distribution. Shelf species ( Peña Cantero 2010a) collected at depths from 20 ( Naumov & Stepanjants 1972) to 640 m ( Peña Cantero et al. 2002); present material from 120 to 312 m, epibiotic on Staurotheca densa and S. nonscripta .

Circum-Antarctic species ( Peña Cantero et al. 2002). Recently reported from off Low Island (Peña Cantero 2013), in West Antarctica , and off Queen Mary Coast ( Peña Cantero 2014a), in East Antarctica . See Peña Cantero (2010a) for previous records. Present material is the first record from the Ross Sea, collected off Cape Adare and Cape Hallet.
