Notes:— Petitia Perag. is an eponym of the French pharmacist and algologist Paul Charles Mirbel Petit (1834–1913), while Petitia J.Gay is named after the French botanist Félix Petit and Petitia Jacq. probably honours the French surgeon François Petit (1664–1741) ( Stafleu & Mennega 1992). Orthographic variant of Petitia Jacq. : Petita Cothenus.
