Fucus vesiculosus Linnaeus , Species Plantarum 2: 1158. 1753.

"Habitat in Mari atlantico." RCN: 8266, 8310.

Lectotype (Irvine in Spencer & al. in Taxon, in press): Herb. Linn. No. 1274.48 ( LINN) .

Generitype of Fucus Linnaeus (vide De Toni in Flora 74: 173. 1891).

Current name: Fucus vesiculosus L. ( Fucaceae ).

Note: Woelkerling (in Rhodora 77: 16. 1975) indicated material in LINN as the type but did not distinguish between several sheets there associated with this name. As they are evidently not part of a single gathering, Art. 9.15 does not apply.
