Diagnosis. Female (length, excluding ovipositor, 1.45–1.72 mm). Body ( Figs 22, 23 View FIGURES 22, 23. A ) dorsoventrally flattened and elongate; head dark brown; antenna dark brown except apex of pedicel and basal two-fifths of scape yellow; mesosoma dorsally largely brown except pronotum and anterior part of mesoscutum dark brown, posterior fourfifths or so of mesoscutum lemon yellow, axilla yellowish brown, and scutellum yellowish brown with middle part largely dark brown; legs yellow with mid and hind coxae brown; head and dorsum of mesosoma slightly shiny with shallow sculpture; frontovertex slightly more than half head width; antennal torulus with dorsal margin well above ventral margin of eye; scape slightly broadened and flattened, about 3.7× as long as broad; clava with sutures subparallel; wings hyaline; ventral surface of costal cell with one complete line of setae and the second line interrupted in the middle; fore wing about 2.8× as long as broad; metasoma about as long as head and mesosoma together; ovipositor distinctly exserted. Male. Unknown.
Description. Female. Holotype. Length, 1.45 mm (excluding ovipositor). Head dark brown. Antenna with radical and distal three-fifths of scape dark brown, proximal two-fifths yellow; apex of pedicel yellow; flagellum dark brown, clava paler distally. Dorsum of mesosoma largely brown, except pronotum and anterior of mesoscutum dark brown, posterior four-fifths or so of mesoscutum lemon yellow, axillae yellow medially, scutellum yellowish brown laterally. Legs yellowish with mid and hind coxae brown and apex of tarsi yellowish brown. Wings hyaline, venation yellowish brown. Metasoma brown.
Head in frontal view ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 24 – 27. A ) wider than high; frontovertex 0.52× head width, with shallow coriaceous sculpture; the longest seta on frontovertex a little longer than diameter of anterior ocellus; ocelli forming an angle of about 70°; posterior ocellus slightly closer to occipital margin than to eye margin; eye with inconspicuous, slender setae, each about as long as the diameter of a facet; eye not quite reaching occipital margin; antennal torulus with its dorsal margin well above lower margin of eye and separated from mouth margin by about half its own height; malar sulcus distinct; clypeal margin slightly emarginate. Antennal scape ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 24 – 27. A ) slightly broadened and flattened, 3.74× as long as broad; pedicel longer than wide, 1.67× as long as broad and 1.15× as long as and distinctly wider than F1; F1 distinctly longer than broad, F2–F6 subquadrate and somewhat longer than broad; clava 2.81× as long as broad, equal to preceding three funicle segments combined; linear sensilla present on all funicle segments. Mandible with 2 acute teeth. Measurements (ìm): HH, 327; HW, 416; FV, 218; OD, 24; POL, 50; OOL, 48; OCL, 36; AOL, 36; EL, 243; MS, 89; length and (width) – radicle, 50 (19); scape, 187 (50); pedicel, 77 (46); F1, 67 (36); F2, 55 (41); F3, 55 (43); F4, 50 (41); F5, 55 (43); F6, 55 (43); clava, 163 (58).
Mesosoma ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 24 – 27. A ) with similar sculpture to frontovertex on mesoscutum and scutellum; scutellum 1.16× as wide as long. Fore wing ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 24 – 27. A ) 2.82× as long as broad; linea calva interrupted by only one row of setae and closed by 2 rows of setae posteriorly; costal cell narrow, about 2× as wide as submarginal vein and ventrally with two lines of setae; length of marginal and postmarginal veins combined slightly longer than stigmal vein; hind wing 5.01× as long as broad. Mid tibial spur 6.6× as long as broad and 0.22× of mid tibia. Propodeum without setae proximad each spiracle. Measurements (ìm): FWL, 1098; FWW, 390; SMV, 446; MV, 62; PMV, 22; SV, 65; HWL, 792; HWW, 158; MT, 356; mid tibial spur, 80; mid basitarsus, 108.
Metasoma about equal to head and mesosoma combined; ovipositor ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 28, 29. A ) distinctly exserted, the exserted part about 1.63× as long as mid tibial spur; hypopygium as in Fig. 28 View FIGURES 28, 29. A . Measurements (ìm): OL, 673; GL, 166; LTL, 614; LTW, 82. [MT, 356]
Male. Unknown.
Variation. Length of female, excluding ovipositor, varies from 1.45–1.72 mm, otherwise very little in material available.
Host. Unknown.
Etymology. Latin: pseudo- = false; refers to the fact that this species is easily confused with Anagyrus bicolor Noyes & Hayat, 1994 .
Comments. This species is very similar to Anagyrus bicolor Noyes & Hayat (1994) in general habitus and coloration, antennal structure and characters of fore wing, but can be separated from the latter by similarly shaped sculpture on the frontovertex, mesoscutum and scutellum (differently shaped in A. bicolor , cf Noyes & Hayat 1994, figs 85–87), distinctly exserted ovipositor (not exserted in A. bicolor ), pedicel distinctly wider than F1 (not wider than F 1 in A. bicolor , cf Noyes & Hayat 1994, fig. 82), basal half of pedicel brown (completely yellow in A. bicolor ), F1 distinctly longer than broad (a little longer than broad in A. bicolor , cf Noyes & Hayat 1994, fig. 82).
