Diagnosis
Family of the superfamily Gephuroceratoidea with discoidal conch with moderately narrow to closed umbilicus; rounded venter in early species but acute venter in late species. Growth lines with high ventrolateral projection. Sutural evolution with proliferation of umbilical lobes during phylogeny. Sutural formula (E 2 E 1 E 2) L U 2:U 1 I to (E 2 E 1 E 2) L U 2: U 3 U 1 I; lateral lobe simple, usually V-shaped.
