Discussion: Separated from Antechinus by Archer (1982:434), but retained in it by McKenna and Bell (1997). According to molecular evidence, it is not even closely related to Antechinus , but forms a distinctive genus of the Dasyurini ( Krajewski et al., 1997 a).
