Genus Limnesia Koch, 1836 View in CoL

Limnesia kochi Smit & Peši ć, 2010 ( Fig. 1A–E View FIGURE 1 A – E )

Material examined. Iran, Kerman Province, Manoojan City, Kandoti dam, pool of stream, 27°21'N 57°42'E, May 2010, leg. Etemadi 3/4/1 (1/0/0 mounted).

Remarks. This species was previously known only from Oman. Due to the location of the Glandula Limnesiae near the anterior margin of Cx-III and the ventral setal tubercle of P-2 located far anteriorly ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 A – E ), Limnesia kochi can be distinguished from other members of the genus (Smit & Pešić 2010). In addition to the measurements, we give some figures of the male specimen from the Kerman province, including the first illustration of the ejaculatory complex ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 A – E ). Male. Idiosoma L/W 590/444; dorsal posterior platelet 52 in diameter; genital field L/W 119/108; palp (n=2) total L 341–347, dL and %L (in parentheses): P-1, 19– 21 (5.5–6.2); P-2, 97–99 (28.5); P-3, 69–71 (20.2–20.5); P-4, 115–119 (33.7–34.3); P-5, 39 (11.2–11.4); L of I-L-4–6: 80, 91, 97; L of IV-L-5–6: 135, 134; IV-L-6 distal seta L 97.

Deutonymph. The deutonymph collected together with the adults are provisionally assigned to L. kochi . Idiosoma L/W 350/278; provisional genital field with two pairs of Ac; palp ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 A – E ): total L 205, dL: P-1, 13 (6.3); P-2, 57 (27.8); P-3, 39 (19.0); P-4, 70 (34.1); P-5, 26 (12.7); P-2 with ventral tubercle located far anteriorly, without peg-like seta; L of I-L-4–6: 49, 57, 69; L of IV-L-5–6: 83, 83; IV-L-6 has only one long seta, L 78.

Distribution. Oman. New for Iran.
