Theholotypeisinagoodstateofpreservation. Itisona 0 sizepin; abdomenwith genitaliahasbeenremovedandprepared, andnowiskeptinamicrovialwithglycerolon thesamepin. Itsrightwingisdamaged: asmallpieceislostfromuppersubapicalmargin. Itsrightforelegwithcoxaeandventralpartsofthoraxbelowhead, aswellasclypeuswith a part of proboscis and lower 1/6 of eye had been eaten by Anthrenus View in CoL larvae .
Measurements of the holotype in mm: body length 6.95 (vs Kertész’s 6.8), wing length 6.90 (vsKertész’s 6.78), wingwidth 2.70. (Thatis, Kertészwasquitepreciseatmeas- urements.)
Longestaristalrays 0.22–0.23 mm. SubapicalbrownspotsonR 2+3, R4+5 andM1+2 are notconfluent, thoughareasbetweenthemslightlydarkerthanmembraneelsewhere.
Malegenitalia. Cercus (Fig. 2) slightlymoreprotrudingthanin H. pseudograndis (this maybeacharacteristicofthespecimenpreservationonly), someofitssetaelongerthan 0.3 mm. Hypandrium (Figs 7–8) stronglyasymmetrical, itsapodemeshortandrounded; lefthalfwithacomparativelyshortslightlymedio-clinateprocesswithsmalldoublebasal teeth, medialtoothemergesfarfromleftprocess (Fig. 8); rightprocessstraight, strongly mediallydirectedwith 3 basalandsub-basalteeth. Surstyluswithlessbroadbase, cau- dalextensionnarrow; outer (lateral) surface (Fig. 1) withsomelongmarginalsetaeand severalshortandthinneradditionalsetae, inner (medial) surface (Fig. 3) withshorttriangular, mostlysharp, pegsonits ¾ length. Postgonites ( Figs 13–14 View Figs 13–15 ) in 3 processes: direct connectionofphallapodemetothemedialprocessonly ( Fig. 13 View Figs 13–15 ), lateral (double) process connectedtophallapodemethroughmembranes. Innerprocessalmoststraight, shorter thanmedialarmofthelateralprocessesandonlyslightlylongerthanhalfofthatof H. pseudograndis , lateralpairofprocesses ( Fig. 14 View Figs 13–15 ) withabroaderandslightlyshortermedial armandathinnerlongerlateralarm. Phallus (Fig. 11) morecurvedinlateralviewthanin H. pseudograndis , apical 1/3 higher, basesharpenedinlateralview. Phallapodemeshorter andmorecurvedthanin H. pseudograndis .
Additionalspecimens ( HNHM): 1 male 3 females: FormosaSauter – Kankau 1912. V. – „grandisKert.” det. Kertész. Rightwingofoneofthefemalesismissing. Probablythat wasusedtomakeawingspecimenonslide; however, nosuchwingspecimenwasfound inKeRtész’ sbequest .
