Type Locality: Indonesia, Prov. of Papua (= Irian Jaya), Vogelkop, Manokwari Div., Arfak Mtns, Sapoea.

Vernacular Names: New Guinean Quoll.

Synonyms: Dasyurus daemonellus Thomas 1904 ; Dasyurus fuscus Milne-Edwards 1880 .

Distribution: New Guinea, sea level to 3500 m, possibly Yapen Isl: see Flannery (1995 a).

Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.
