Serpens

The name Natrix Laurenti, 1768 was not effectively protected under Art. 23.9.2, as outlined above, by reference to Kabisch (1999: 564–580). This should be done as soon as possible. It has even become more necessary than before because Dubois & Bour (2010) validly fixed a type species Coluber helveticus Bonnaterre, 1790 for Serpens Garsault, 1764 . If somebody uses the name Serpens in a current classification, deliberately or undeliberately, the case has to be presented to the Commission.
