( Figs. 3, 4 View FIGURES 1–8 , 10 View FIGURES 9–12 , 14 View FIGURES 13–16 , 18, 22 View FIGURES 17–22 )
Diagnosis. Ground color black with yellow marks; clypeus brownish yellow, without whitish bristles; propodeum with narrow dorsal yellow spots; whole metasoma black except for faint reddish brown mark on first tergum extending dorsally and laterally at mid of its length; mid and hind tarsi yellow; clypeus relatively wide, subquadrate; posterior ocelli close, separated by distance less than or equal to one ocellar diameter; occipital carina hardly developed; inner hind tarsal claw with tip widely rounded, but not expanded.
FEMALE DESCRIPTION. Length of fore wing: 13.0 mm. head in frontal view higher than wide (FHH/INTOW: 1.10); clypeus subquadrate, nearly as high as wide (HCLP/WCLP: 1.05), apex narrowly rounded; tentorial pit closer to the eye than to the antennal socket; malar space narrow; occipital carina hardly developed; posterior ocelli close, separated by distance less than or equal to one ocellar diameter; (POL/OOL: 0.33); anterior margin of pronotum medially with lamella wide and reflexed, without secondary margin immediately behind; pronotum with lateral fovea; pronotal carina continuous from side to side, not lobed on humeral region; mesoscutum as long as wide (LMS/WMS: ca. 1.00), lateral margin adjacent to tegula with well-developed lamella; median sulcus of propodeum narrow, with distinct keel and weak transverse striae; hind leg inner tarsal claw with tip rounded but not expanded; first metasomal segment relatively short (LSI/HMP: 1.00), approximately 2.9 times wider at the apex than at the base, width at apex ca. 0.49X the length of the segment; forewing not noticeably elongate (LDIS/HMP: ca. 2.34).
Sculptur e. Integument finely granulate; clypeus with apical region reticulate and shining, with few large punctures; mandible reticulate and shining, with numerous large punctures.
Vestiture. Head, especially clypeus and mandibles with outstanding long golden bristles with curved tips, and also with shorter more appressed pubescence; mesoscutum and other mesosomal areas with whitish bristles with curved tips, especially long on propodeum.
Color. Ground color black; antennal flagellum reddish brown, darker above, scape yellowish beneath; clypeus yellow; mandible very dark brown to black; tegula, lateral area of pronotum, upper metapleural plate, mark around base of femora extending to trochanter, fore tarsus, brown; band adjacent to the inner margin of the eye (from the upper free margin of the clypeus to the vertex), narrow faint band adjacent to the outer margin of the eye, area adjacent to pronotal carina, spot on upper mesepisternal plate, posterior ventral margin of mesosternum narrowly, mesoaxilla, anterior band on metanotum and metaxilla, one spot on each of mid and hind coxae, apex of the femora, distal third of mid and hind tibiae, mid and hind tarsi largely, rather faint narrow paired spots on propodeum, yellow; scutellum and metasoma black, except for a faint reddish brown mark circundating first tergum at half of its length. Wings hyaline, venation brown.

NEST. Unknown.
Distribution. Brazil: AM ( Fig. 27 View FIGURE 27 ).
Type material. Holotype, ♀, Brazil, Amazonas , Ipixuna , R. Gregório com Lago Grande, 07º10’11.7” S, 70º49’10.3”W, 23.v.2011 (JA Rafael, JT Câmara, RF Silva, A. Somavilla, C. Gonçalves, A. Agudelo) ( INPA). GoogleMaps
Etymology. The specific epithet is a reference to the type locality, Ipixuna, in Amazonas state, Brazil, and to the nearby Ipixuna River. It is a name of indigenous origin.
Remarks. This species is similar in color to M. chanchamayoensis , but it can be promptly separated by the wider subquadrate shape of the clypeus, with pale color, which furthermore entirely lacks whitish bristles. Only the holotype female is known.
