Remarks.
Appeared first as nomen nudum (as " Melania tricarinata ") in Fitton (1824: 376). Junior secondary homonym of Melanopsis tricarinata ( Bruguière, 1789). Sandberger (1870: 55) considered this species as a junior synonym of Pleurocera strombiforme (Schlotheim, 1820) ( Pleuroceridae ).
