Type Locality: SE Turkey, "environs d'Akbès, sur les confins de la Syrie et de l'Asie Mineure" = Meydanekbez, SW Gaziantep.

Vernacular Names: Pere David's Mole.

Synonyms: Talpa streeti Lay 1965 ; Talpa streetorum Lay 1967 .

Distribution: SE Turkey, NW Iran.

Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered as Talpa streeti .

Discussion: Includes Talpa streeti , as already suggested by Grulich (1982). Kryštufek et al. (2001) revised the species, discussed the morphological variation, and mapped all known localities.
