Notes
Encrusting sponge with multiple small oscules; surface smooth, but irregular, uneven with a soft texture. Maximum recorded size: 30 cm across. Colour pale brown to yellow, orange and purple. Commonly known as "chicken liver" sponges because of their fleshy texture. These sponges are soft. It is typical of the group in that the internal colour is virtually identical to the external colour (Fig. 184).
