Known distribution: São Miguel, Azores ( Portugal) in a pond 1 km south-east of Lagoa do Congro ( Marcus & Marcus 1959).
Material examined: None.
Diagnosis: Animals up to 2.2 mm long, without eyes or body pigmentation. Caudal body end sometimes pointed, sometimes almost round. Zoochlorellae absent. Dermal rhabdites present. Male copulatory system of the duplex-type IIIA. Seminal vesicle separated from the prostate vesicle by a strong sphincter. Female genital system of the AGLOBULATA - type. Epithelium of the female genital canal consisting of high, club-shaped cells.
