Phaenocora megacephala ( Higley, 1918) Meixner, 1930 (in Stummer-Traunfels & Meixner 1930)
Dalyellia megacephala Higley 1918: 49 –50, plates 1–2; Meixner 1930 (in Stummer-Traunfels & Meixner 1930); 3387; Ruebush 1937: 238; Luther 1955: 323.
Known distribution: Mississippi basin (Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, USA) no location specified ( Higley 1918).
Very little information about this species can be retrieved from literature. According to Higley (1918) the animals are about 0.75 mm long. The eyes are black and the animals lack any colouration. Dermal rhabdites are present. The reproductive structures were not well described and new material is needed for further investigations.
