Known distribution: Tikhon ( Russia) in a creek ( Nasonov 1919).

Material examined: None.

Diagnosis: Animals about 1 mm long, with black eyes that appear white under reflective light. Zoochlorellae not mentioned in literature. Male copulatory organ of the duplex-type IA. Prostate vesicle empties through a constriction at the distal end of the copulatory organ. Female genital structures only partly known. Female genital canal, genito-bursal duct and intestinal bursa present, hence either of the UNIPUNCTATA - type or the AGLOBULATA - type.

Remarks: Gilbert (1935; TextFig. 3E) reproduced the drawing of the male system of P. achaeorum by Nasonov (1919; Plate 4 Fig. 2; our Fig. 11C), but erroneously labelled it P. vjatkensis .
