Species recognition. This species is recognized by the extremely long dorsal row of peglike setae, the short (one seta) ventral “row”, the rounded carina, and the distinct oval depression on the hind femur.

Description. Body length: 1.41–1.75 mm. Head: Frons dark brown, second row of setae slightly concave. Flagellomere 1 rounded-oval, dark brown. Palpus slightly enlarged, inflated, brown. Thorax: Scutum brown. Scutellum dark brown, with setae broken. Pleuron brown. Mean costal length 0.5 wing length. Halter yellow. Legs yellowish-brown. Forecoxa in lateral view yellowish-brown. Foretibia with 4 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres slender, elongate. Midcoxa dark brown. Hind coxa yellowish-brown. Hind coxal lobe light brown, short, with ventral, dorsally curved, bare digitiform process. Posterior face of hind femur with peglike setae in long dorsal row nearly reaching carina, and ventral “row” consisting of one seta; more distally with rounded carina forming distal end of well-defined oval depression ( Figs 97–98). Abdomen: Abdominal tergite 1 dark brown, tergites 2–6 dark brown. Venter of abdomen gray, with few setae, larger on posterior margin of segment 5. Male terminalia brown, cercus yellow.

Distribution. Known from a single site in French Guiana.

Derivation of specific epithet. Based on the name of the type locality.

Holotype. ♂, FRENCH GUIANA: l’Oyapock : St. Georges de l’Oyapock, 3.88°N, 51.68°N, 7–9.ii.2006, P. Cerdan, Malaise trap [ LACM ENT 236497 View Materials ] ( LACM).

Paratypes. 1♂, same data as holotype ( LACM) .
