Type Locality: Indonesia, Sumatra, Padang.
Vernacular Names: Big-eared Pipistrelle.
Synonyms: Hypsugo curtatus Miller 1911 .
Distribution: W Malaysia, Sumatra, Bali, adjacent small islands.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt) as Pipistrellus macrotis .
Discussion: Listed as a subspecies of imbricatus by Medway (1969), but see Tate (1942 a) and Corbet and Hill (1980). May include vordermanni ; see Corbet and Hill (1992).
