Current accepted combination: Parornix alpicola leucostola Pelham - Clinton, 1964 (see Bradley 2000).

Holotype, male, pinned (abdomen on Genitalia slide L.0027 (M.1191): also allotype Ƥ and paratypes 13, 1Ƥ; all pinned.

Specimen data: Holotype: “20577” [Handwritten label on specimen micro-pin]. “Invernaver, Suth. | 6 Jun 1963 | E.C.P.-C. No.20577”. “[Genitalia prep.] M.1191 [Red] | 20577 [Black]” [Typewritten]. “Holo- | Type ” [Round label with red border]. “ PARORNIX | LEUCOSTOLA P-C | 1964 3 | det. E.C.Pelham-Clinton.” [Handwritten]. “ RSM 1964.6 | (+ slide L.0027)” [Typewritten].

Remarks: These specimens are undoubtedly the holotype, allotype and two paratypes. Three other paratypes are in BM(NH) and L.Vári collection. An additional 6 topotypes taken in 1965 and 1973 are also in NMS Collection. A black and white photograph of the holotype and line drawings of the 3 genitalia of the holotype and a paratype (L.0029) and the Ƥ genitalia of the allotype are shown in pl. 2: fig. 1 and figs. 1–3 ( Pelham-Clinton 1964).
