Holotype, female, pinned:
Specimen data: “Palmiste | Oct.21. ” [Handwritten (by Lamont)]. “Radara sp. |? tostola Feld. Ƥ | W.H.T.Tams det.” [Printed].” “Lamont | Collection | 1950.16” [Printed] with label with “ TYPE ” [Handwritten in red ink], glued to it. “Redara [sic] tincturalis Kaye ” [Handwritten Lamont cabinet label]. Label justifying specimen as holotype by M.J.W.Cock, 1997.
Remarks: This specimen collected at Palmiste, Trinidad in October 1921 by Sir N. Lamont is unambiguously the holotype. It is illustrated in colour in Pl. XLV: fig. 14 ( Kaye 1925, Kaye & Lamont 1927).
