Specimen data: No locality label. “ Type ” [Handwritten]. “Lamont | Collection | 1950.16” [Printed] with label with “ TYPE ” [Handwritten in red ink], glued to it. “ Phastia maricolor ” [Handwritten Lamont cabinet label]. “ Salluca pistacina | Schaus female | Det. M.J.W. Cock 2000” [Printed].
Remarks: This specimen collected by Sir N. Lamont in Trinidad was considered by Lamont to be the holotype and is illustrated in colour in Pl. I: fig. 12 ( Kaye 1922, Kaye & Lamont 1927). No precise locality is given in the original description, but Kaye & Lamont (1927) give the type locality as “Palmiste”.
