Percnia View in CoL FUMIDARIA Leech, 1897
Annals and Magazine of Natural History, Series 6, 19 (112), 414–463[455]. Combination still valid (see Scoble 1999).
Syntype, male, pinned:
Specimen data: “Co-type | 3 | Leech” [Printed on blue disc]. “Ichang | Mrs. Pratt Coll[ection]. | July 1888 ” [Printed with black border]. “Leech Coll[ection]. | 1901-173” [Printed = original BM(NH) registration number]. “fumidaria Leech” [Handwritten in pencil]. “ 1903-19 | 2244” [Printed] verso “fumidaria Leech” [Handwritten (by Grimshaw)].
Remarks: This specimen, collected by Mrs. Pratt in Ichang, China, is one of “several examples of each sex from Chang-yang and Ichang and a pair from Chia-ting-fu: July” used in the type description ( Leech 1897). As no “ type ” was designated, it is thus a syntype. It was passed to the RSM by the BM(NH) in 1903 as part of the BM(NH)’s Duplicate Disposal Scheme.
