This group is characterized by being slender and of medium length (4–6 mm); the pronotum is not very convex and weakly impressed medially, red, with a moderate transverse depression anterior to blue base, and with very fine prehumeral carinae parallel to and just interior to marginal carina; elytra have the apices angulate or obliquely truncate, the posterior 2/3 is covered uniformly with more or less dense golden setae, the anterior margin of golden area prolonged medially along suture interior to the costae, beyond the dark lateral margins.
