This group is characterized by being more robust and of small to medium length (3–7 mm); the anterior portion of pronotum is very convex, red, with a strong transverse depression anterior to the blue base, and usually without prehumeral carinae; elytra have the apices more or less broadly, separately rounded, the posterior 2/3 with uniformly dense golden setae with the anterior margin of the golden area broadly emarginate medially along the suture, longer behind the humeri and at lateral margins.
