Only one of the four species in this genus has been recorded in Ecuador. The adults are more elongate than the other calopterygid genera and are largely metallic green ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ); females often have a reddish tinge in the wings. The nymphs inhabit small, high elevation forested streams often below waterfalls. The genus was revised by Garrison (2006), who also described the nymph of the one species in Ecuador.
