Triacanthagyna Selys, 1883

Of the nine species in this genus, five occur in Ecuador. Adults are mainly dark green and black and are relatively slender and small compared to most aeshnids ( Fig. 68 ); they are crepuscular, sometimes flying at treetop level just before dark. Small, temporary, rainforest pools and tree holes are the preferred habitat. References are Williamson (1923a) and von Ellenrieder & Garrison (2003).
