Of the nine species in this genus, five occur in Ecuador. Adults are mainly dark green and black and are relatively slender and small compared to most aeshnids ( Fig. 68 View FIGURE 68 ); they are crepuscular, sometimes flying at treetop level just before dark. Small, temporary, rainforest pools and tree holes are the preferred habitat. References are Williamson (1923a) and von Ellenrieder & Garrison (2003).

Note: von Ellenrieder & Garrison (2003) suggest that “the apparently disjunct distribution may be due to the species being rare and more though collecting will show it to occur in intermediate localities.”
