Lectotype (designated here by Blackmore): Herb. Clifford: 390, Catananche 1 (BM-000646896) .

Current name: Catananche caerulea L. View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).

Note: Alavi (in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 107: 324. 1983) indicated both Herb. Linn. 961.1 and 961.2 (LINN) as types. As these are evidently not part of a single gathering, Art. 9.15 does not apply and this is not an effective typification.
