Diagnosis (emended after Holovachov 2012)
Cuticle annulated. Lateral field present. First annules appear posterior to bases of cephalic setae, at level of or posterior to amphids. Labial region rounded. Inner labial sensilla indistinct. Outer labial sensilla papilliform, located on anterior surface of lips. Cephalic capsule present, cephalic sensilla papilliform or setiform, their bases located anterior to amphids. Amphidial fovea loop-shaped, doughnut-shaped or inverted U-shaped,with or without central elevation. Secretory-excretory system obvious, excretory pore opens posterior to nerve ring, excretory ampulla present. Buccal cavity tubular. Pharynx with narrow isthmus and basal bulb. Cardia enveloped by intestine in its posterior part. Female reproductive system didelphic and amphidelphic. Ovary branches reflexed antidromously; spermathecae paired (four in total) and offset, sac-like, located on each side of each gonoduct; uterus short; vulva equatorial; vagina straight. Male reproductive system diorchic. Testes opposed, with anterior testis outstretched and posterior one reflexed. Spicules arcuate. Gubernaculum rectangular or platelike, usually with apophysis. Midventral precloacal supplements present: only tubular, only alveolar, or both anterior alveolar and posterior tubular. A pair of precloacal setae and several pairs of subventral and subdorsal caudal setae. Tail conoid, elongate or subcylindrical. Three caudal glands present. Spinneret functional, weakly cuticularised.
