Genus Xizicus Gorochov, 1993

Type species: Xiphidiopsis fascipes Bey-Bienko, 1955 , by original designation.

REMARK. In Orthoptera Species File (Cigliano et al., 2018), this genus is considered with 7 subgenera. But some of these subgenera are problematic: Paraxizicus

Liu, 2004 and Haploxizicus Wang, Jing, Liu et Li, 2014 may be synonyms of the subgenera Furcixizicus Gorochov, 2002 and Axizicus Gorochov, 1998 , respectively.

Such synonymy is suggested by some subgeneric characters and illustrations given in the partial revision of Xizicus s. l. (Wang et al., 2014: figs 4–14). Also, it is necessary to mention that type species of the subgenus Furcixizicus is Xizicus furcicercus

Gorochov, 2002 by original designation (Gorochov, 2002), but in Orthoptera

Species File (Cigliano et al., 2018), its type species is erroneously indicated as

Xizicus cryptostictus (Hebard, 1922) .
