Notes

Thickly encrusting sponge, sometimes with shallow, bumpy tubes. Maximum recorded size: 15 cm across. Conspicuous, terminal oscules that can appear clustered on the surface, giving it a mammiform appearance. Smooth, velvety surface. Dark brick-red colouration (Fig. 176).
