Type-species: Trombidium tiliarium Hermann, 1804
Diagnosis. Two pairs of pseudanal (ps 1, ps 2) and two pairs of ventrocaudal setae (h 2, h 3) present in female; opisthosomal seta h 1 present; striae on opisthosoma transverse with small lobes; duplex setae on tarsus I distal and adjacent; tarsus I with 3–5 tactile setae proximal to duplex setae; true claws pad-like and with tenent hairs; empodia with 3 pairs of ventrally directed proximoventral hairs; dorsal body setae at least as long as distance between their bases ( Tuttle et al. 1976; Meyer 1987; Seeman et al. 2017).
